“If we don’t stand up for the children… then we don’t stand up for much.”
-Marian W. Edelman
Inspired by real events, “Resilience” is a non-profit feature film that follows the story of a young girl caught in the vicious cycle of the foster system, who is suddenly sentenced to a correctional facility for teens that creates a "Lord of the Flies" environment in the name of “therapy”.
In the midst of wrestling PTSD from her own broken family history, she must survive severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her fellow students- each of whom have their own dark past. Follow their journey in rediscovering hope amidst darkness in order to take down this obscene system.
Our goal in making this film is to spread awareness beyond advocacy groups to the fact that facilities like this are still open today, as well as to inspire redemption and hope to our generation that has been pitted destructively against one another.
